PicayuneFarrago's News

Posted by PicayuneFarrago - March 10th, 2021

Since I finally got the Newgrounds player to work again, I decided to go through it again. IT TOOK ME 2 HOURS.

I got 13 or 14 of them out of Under Judgement.

I got 7 or 8 save points. (The other 6 are things I blammed but were saved anyway.)

I even found someone new to follow.

And I flagged 2 things for stolen content.

Now you go do it too. If my profile is to be believed, my voting power is 5.48, which can only do so much.

Well, I got a job last month, at Stop and Shop. And I like it much better than Walmart. It's cleaner, things work and are in the right places, and the walls are yellow instead of white. Just more peaceful.

Other than that I haven't had much happening. I have a couple of artworks planned, including one for a collaboration, as well as working on the Zine. But I haven't really been in a mood to draw, so who knows when I might post them.

I posted a movie of my old animations, which somehow showed up on the Best New Games and Movies section. Despite having a max rating of 2.83/5... I was hoping for a 3 at least. Also, Under Judgement has been pretty large for days now. Sheesh, people really have to start voting more often, on all submissions.

It's been a year since the whole staying inside began, and despite being an introvert, this isolation is getting to me a lot. I miss movie theaters, arcades, libraries, and in person classes. And online communities really aren't a substitute (not to mention I find it hard to fit in anywhere). I've been getting therapy, though it doesn't happen that often, and I'm going to try using medication in conjunction.

That's all I have for today... I'm open to talk to in the comments here. Thank you for reading.

Mario Golf is one of my favorite Mario spinoffs. I like the strategy aspect of it, in comparison to other Mario spinoffs. It also has some really nice music and graphics. And it's gotten me interested in golf in real life.

Mario Golf Super Rush was probably my favorite part of the last Nintendo Direct. The Speed Golf mode seems like a fun new idea for the series. I don't think I've seen anything like it in other golfing games. (Or golf in general). I imagine it'll be best experienced with friends. :,)

I am pleased with the outcome! The games they showcased look really good so far.

All of the games look gorgeous, which is especially important for a game like New Pokemon Snap where you're taking a lot of photos.

I also think Pokemon Legends is a great idea! Learning more about the past of the mainline universe was always something that interested me (also something I loved about Sinnoh in general, the mythology theme) and I hope this won't be the last game. Would love to see Johto explored next... I can't wait for this game, but I can wait because I want it to be the best it can be!

And of course I'm gonna be happy about Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Platinum was my first Pokemon game, and having played this generation extensively I do think there's room for improvement in there, so I hope the remakes address those. And it's being developed by a different company, like FE3H, so that'll be fun to see their interpretation of the series.

I'll probably be preordering them as soon as I can!

Someone gifted me supporter again, and I will forever be astounded that anyone thinks I'm worth spending money on (which is my way of saying Thank You)

I don't really have any news I just kind of wanted to bump my last depressing post, so, if anyone wants to talk to me about something you can just comment here. Anything really; obscure games, obscure comics, guro, types of cheese, weather complaints, new recipes...

it's been less than 5 hours since I posted the previous news post, but thanks to a diligent person, I've found a copy of Dragon Ball (no relation to popular manga) that can be played forever!

https://smallgames.ws/5730-dragon-ball.html

on a foreign site of course!

to get it you have to download from their server, the first link, just enter the verification captcha thingie, and click download, then click it again! (don't use the google translate feature though, it breaks the button) then just install it, and bam, old pc abandonware!

i much recommend this game, it's an interesting and unique puzzle game.

This year's mysterious game is an abandonware PC game from 2005. It's a unique match 3 puzzle game about a dragon family trying to reclaim their fortune by finding a bunch of elemental pearls.

I played it as a kid, on Wild Tangent, but only a trial version. And it took me years to find again because of one fatal mistake:

It's called Dragon Ball

No it's not related to the manga at all, it just has the same name. Why? Well who knows, whoever made this game has zero presence anywhere online. The company is called Venton Soft. Looking them up gives very little results.

I like this game and I want others to play it. But I have a problem. I was only able to get the trial version from an archived download. I believe this trial version is just the full version but with a time limit on it imposed by Wild Tangent. So after an hour, it's not playable anymore.

If anyone knows how to get rid of this DRM and have the game completely playable, or knows somebody who does, that would be wonderful. I guess I'm technically asking for piracy, but this game is clearly abandonware and not on sale anywhere. Also, I couldn't find a single download of it on any abandonware websites, and the only download I found was a complete lie. And finally, I have no way to contact the creators of the game: I didn't get far enough in the game to see credits, so I don't know the names behind it.

Bluemaxima Flashpoint. https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/

This has a couple of mentions in a couple of other people's journals, so I'm glad it's not totally unknown on this website.

But, just another assurance that Flash games aren't going anywhere...

I'm going to be basically not sharing my artwork online as much anymore. I don't want to be motivated to draw based on possibly getting some miniscule numbers. I'll probably end up deleting most of what's on my Weasyl account, but I will keep everything here just for the archive, and keep the account just for looking at my current favorites like I have with multiple other art websites.

I've gotten some advice recently about not needing to document the things I love online all the time, and based on my past experiences I think getting off the internet for a while is for the best.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be getting my driver's license, and I actually enjoy driving, so I am hoping to do a lot more of that. I've also found i enjoy book making, so I may he trying more of that too.

So if anyone is actually reading this, thanks, and goodbye.
